What Your Fortuner Demands
- High CCA: Diesel engines require high Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) to turn over. A weak battery will fail on the first cold morning.
- Vibration Resistance: If you use your 4x4, the battery must withstand constant shaking on rough roads. Standard batteries can fail under these conditions.
For most Fortuner models (especially petrol and older D-4D), the correct fitment is a heavy-duty Willard 652. It delivers the high CCA and robust build your SUV needs.
A Note for Modern GD-6 Fortuners
Like the Hilux, if you drive a modern Fortuner with a Start/Stop system, you cannot use a 652. You must use a high-tech EFB or AGM battery.
