Ford Ranger Battery Coding Service (Alberton)
You thought "battery coding" was just for German luxury cars like BMW and Audi? Surprise: your modern Ford Ranger needs it too.
Your Ranger is equipped with a smart BMS (Battery Management System). This computer monitors your battery's age and health, and adjusts the alternator's charging profile.
What is "Battery Coding" (Registration)?
When we install a new battery, we must plug our diagnostic tool into your Ranger and perform a "BMS Reset" or "Battery Registration."
This 5-minute step tells the computer: "A brand-new battery has been installed. Reset the charging profile to safe, normal levels."
What Happens if You Skip It?
If you don't code it, the BMS still thinks the old, weak battery is installed. It will continue to overcharge your new, expensive AGM/EFB battery to compensate.
This will destroy your new battery in 3-6 months and voids your warranty.

You do not have to pay high dealership prices for this essential service. We are one of the only independent specialists in Alberton with the dealer-level diagnostic tools to register your new Ranger battery correctly. We protect your battery, your warranty, and your wallet.
